As we announce our 7th season of programming, we are pleased to be able to offer some exciting improvements to the program. Our close relationship with the Alltel Ice Den and the CAHA Association, built up over the years, has resulted in us being able to offer an even more complete program. This year, a mid-week "prime time" slot has been secured. This is in addition to the Saturday and Sunday morning slots. It has been recognized that the early slots are not the best for some, but this year we will be able to offer, on a rotating basis, at least two weekends per month where the teams will not have the early slots and keep the morning clear. We are also continuing with our weekly skills sessions at Ozzie Ice and whenever possible, additional sessions at the various Valley rinks will be scheduled.
All competitive programs, will be approximately $2,000 per player (based on age), including tournament entry fees, SYHL League fees and the Annual Training Camp in Flagstaff, including travel coach transportation. A developmental program will also be offered for $700 per player (PLUS POSSIBLE ADDITIONAL GAMES FEES) and will include weekly sessions at Ozzie Ice. This program is for all ages and is an excellent introduction to competitive hockey. The majority of the girls are U10/12 and our goal is to develop them into competitive players. Although we cannot participate as a team in the CAHA House League, alternatives are being sought. Details to follow.
The U12,U14 and U16 teams will again be participating in 3-4 tournaments, to be selected based on finding the right competitive experience for the various teams, and the 12U and 14U teams will once again compete in the Sonoran Youth Hockey League on an exhibition basis. This year the Training Camp in Flagstaff, AZ to be held August 22-24th is also included in the registration.
We are proud to be able to again offer the best valued program for travel hockey anywhere in the Western States. Ice Rental fees, Sonoran League Fees and tournament entry fees have all increased this season. We are a completely volunteer run association and all funds go directly to the hockey program. This year NO DIRECT FUNDRAISING will be included in the budgeted annual fee. A breakdown of the annual fees is shown below (estimate):
ICE RENTAL 54% LEAGUE FEES 21% TOURNAMENTS 10% TRAINING CAMP 8% OFFICIAL/EQUIP/MISC. 7%
Registration can be paid in full at any time or in three installments. The first two payments are due by Aug.18th and the final payment must be made by Oct. 10, 2008. If any fundraising is organized, it will be used to directly reduce the overall cost.
Each player must register separately each year directly with USA Hockey and the Arizona affiliate AAHA. This can be done from our website by selecting the USA Hockey Online Registration Form tab on our website. Follow the instruction and send the confirmation number to info@arizonaselects.org.
We will be once again doing online registration and this too can be found on our website by selecting the Members (Online Registration 2008-2009) Tab.
